The Education of Lilanoir Rue is the first story in the Sanguis City Series. Lilanoir Rue, a side effect of The End of the world, has never had a say in her future until now. A rift between two factions of the Human Reservation is growing and she is offered a life with the man she loves. But nothing is ever normal for Lily, even something as simple as love. Used to being called a monster, Lily meets a real one at the worst possible moment but finds out that he isn't the only one she needs to fear.

Lilanoir's world has been turned upside down, again, in My Name is Noir, making her flee to the city that she has been avoiding for six long months, the city of blood. Join Lilanoir on her first day in Sanguis City in the second prequel of this Paranormal Romance/ Urban Fantasy series. Life is certainly different than where she grew up on the Human Reservation. Lily knows that the city is ruled by the Vampires that took over the world but she doesn't know where she fits in, she isn't exactly a vampire. She soon discovers that her fangs are the ticket to the good life. It seems all she has to do is change her name and she can have it all. That is if only Tombs, the University's researcher, would leave her alone.

I don't want to leave a rating for this book because I don't think it's right. But since Amazon is insisting, I will give it 4 stars because the writing was good, and the information was all things that contribute to the story long term. I wasn't sure if I should read Prequels before or after I read the first Sanguis City book, so I read it first. There were several places where I didn't quite understand what was going on, and I think it's because I should have read the first book first.

Aside from my confusion, I did enjoy the writing and the storyline itself. The characters were interesting, and I almost cried at the end. I am currently reading Sanguis City and having read the prequels helps a little in knowing Noir's backstory, but I think if you are going to read the prequels, you should probably wait until you have read the first book. Or ask the author what she thinks is a better idea. I don't think waiting until the end of the first book will hurt anything other than that extra insight into her past and the people she interacted with.

Prequels Sanguis City Book 1 edition by Morgan Jane Mitchell Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews

Can't wait for the next book in this series. Yeh, another good series to look forward to.
Mitchell takes you on a journey through the eyes of Noir who is a abomination to her people. Noir is a half human half vampire. This starts with a post apocalyptic setting. There are lost of twist and questions unanswered until you get to the next book. My suggestion is to read in sequence. Mitchell has captivated me from the beginning and creates this unique vampire world. I am hooked and need to know what happens to Crow, Tomb, Sanders and his animal familiar. I'm looking forward to the relationship development of Noir and Sanders. Sanders/Alexander is a character that peaks my interest and seems to be devious, scary, and sexy. This series is a must. Great writing Morgan Jane Mitchell.
An interesting book with a definite hook. I really liked it! I cant wait to read the next book and see what happens...
This was good. Interesting even, but I haven't read anything else from this series so there were moments of confusion. But I really enjoyed the writing style. It kept me engaged throughout the book.
I've enjoyed the Sanguis City series so much, & this prequel just added to the experience. Morgan Jane takes us to a whole new world where so much has changed yet I didn't feel lost at all. She's a wonderful story-teller providing plenty of detail to get her point across without over explaining things. If you're a dystopian fan or enjoy a good vampire tale you are sure to enjoy this series too.
This is the first book I have read from paranormal author Morgan Jane and I was pleasantly pleased with my decision to read!! I choose to red the prequel first even though the first book in the series was presented to me for review!!! Her writing style is captivating and interestingly different. I do admit that the introduction to this new type of vampire breed is different but it doesn't take away from the story line.

I am glad I was able to get a pre-view to the masterful blending of dystopia and paranormal fiction! I look forward to more world building in future installments.

I do give her a 3.5 stars rounded to a 4 as I was a bit confused at some points, but I am sure it will all will be explained in book 1!! I will be reading more of you my dear indeed!!!

There are two prequels to be had in this book, The Education of Lilanoir Rue and My Name is Noir. They can be purchased separately, or the can be purchased together in this book.

**The Education of Lilanoir Rue This is where it all begins and it explains a bit where Lily came from.

This is the first of two prequels to the Sanguis City series. Lilanoir, aka Lily, is definitely an intriguing character. She is shunned and outcasted by not only her mother, but also from her town. She is called a monster and has supernatural strength and speed, hinting at the fact that she is a bit "different", but it's not quite fully revealed yet.

The world is also quite different. It's a post-apocalyptic setting where humans are to live only in designated areas called Human Reservations. They are essentially like our Indian Reservations in the US in the sense that they are close-knit, and some people have even chosen to adopt different aspects of the American Indian culture, mainly Cherokee. Anything outside these areas are deemed dangerous and uninhabitable. Lily is asked by her best friend/love interest, Crow, to move out of the base where she currently lives and join him in the village. She goes back to her town to speak to her mother, and that's really when things get interesting.

There were a few minor errors, mainly with the improper word being used - plaque instead of plague, devote as opposed to devout. It wasn't bad enough to pull me out of the story, which is always a good thing.

I've been interested in this series for a while now, and decided to get a feel by reading the prequels. Based on this one alone, I am interested enough to move to the actual series.

**My Name is Noir This follows Lily's arrival in Sanguis City

This is the second prequel to the Sanguis City series, but I feel as if maybe this one should be read after starting the series as opposed to before. There were some instances where I felt a bit lost (such as the many mentions of Jack, or the fact that she stayed with him for 6 months before coming to the Big City.). Regardless of not fully "getting" some things from this story, it does make me want to move to the actual series. There's something interesting to be had - bleeders, vampires, the fact that Lily is still running despite the fact she thought this place was safe. And there's a potential love interest, I'm always a sucker for a bit of romance )

After reading both of these, I am definitely interested enough to move on to the series.

But since is insisting, I will give it 4 stars because the writing was good, and the information was all things that contribute to the story long term.
