This book by Beth Bowland is my favorite book of hers. She is a great author and all of her characters are interesting and remind me of kids in my school. The three boys are sent to a magical land and meet very interesting characters. They have to face challenges with powers they receive. I read this book in two days because I couldn't wait to see what happens. I hope she writes another book with these characters. I can't wait to see what she writes next!
Seven Shades of Luminosity was a very good read. I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. This story about three boys' journey into a fantasy world to conquer evil is astounding. The characters are believable because they are children whose friendship is tested. They have personal problems that are slightly known or completely unknown to one another but are revealed with such entertainment, but most of all, the journey that the three friends must travel in order to conquer evil is filled with magical delight. The details are so vivid that they seem so real. Each destination is characterized with something unique and purposeful. The details in the story are wonderful. The people are just as beautiful as the places they reside in or just as grotesque as the places they live in or live nearby. The food scenes make you want to eat, even when you thought that you could not eat another thing. The battles have you doing battle as well. With every movement of those scenes, you feel as though you are in the battle between good and evil and no matter whose side you are on, you want to “win.” From the beginning to the end, the story will keep you wanting to read on and wish that you were a part of Ralph, Gator and Cornbread’s journey.
